Love Lady Gaga. Hate the demise of Polaroid. Putting the two together could be very interesting. I suppose.
That said, what will she be contributing to the brand and product set?
I have no doubt that her talents may be more varied that we know. I, never want to be one of those people that says if one is a talent as a singer or fashion spectacle, then surely that is the limit of their knowledge and talent. Still, not sure what the connection is beyond of the obvi/cliche of her song.
How does the brand benefit on a large scale from her Creative Direction, the average shopper of affordable camera goods is likely not in the House of Gaga.
Her following is sizable, but is it enough to save a brand that has dug its own grave with (IMO) stupid product cuts and limited expansion of innovative technology.
So, that said...let's see what happens. Should be interesting or no.
