The Gold Rush and the MN Orchestra
Charlie Chaplin- Table Ballet
The kids and I went to see a screening of the Charlie Chaplin movie, The Gold Rush.
The Minnesota Orchestra, featuring a dear friend Dee who is a world renowned accordion player did the accompanying score.
The orchestra was fabulous, this is a highly complex scenario. As the music and the movie must be in constant sync and the music provides everything unspoken in the silent film. Dee was wonderful, as expected. She is a lovely and truly talented woman.
What a treat. We rarely think of the music that makes our movies so incredible. Yet without the efforts of so many talented composers and musicians over the last century, our movies would be terribly lacking.
